PETER R. BOAK SCHOLARSHIP

The Island Community Chorus has created the Peter R. Boak Scholarship to support the college education of Vineyard graduates pursuing musical studies. You may read about the most recent scholarship winner below. Because the scholarship is administered by the Martha’s Vineyard Community Foundation (previously The Permanent Endowment  of MV),  information about the scholarship and an application are available on its website.  The scholarship web page can be found HERE.

CHORUS ANNOUNCES 2023 PETER R. BOAK SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT

The 2023 Peter R. Boak Scholarship recipient is Jack Crawford, a former student of our founder and director emeritus.  Jack has performed in many of the MVRHS musicals and excelled academically. He plans to pursue a degree in music at Bowdoin College in the fall. The Chorus wishes Jack congratulations and all the best!

Peter R. Boak Scholarship Recipients

The Peter R. Boak Scholarship, honoring the beloved Founder/Music Director of the Island Community Chorus, was established in 2002 and is given annually to a graduating senior pursuing further studies in music. Applicants must have a permanent Island address and be students of the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, the Martha’s Vineyard Charter School, a private school, or be home-schooled.
